Some exciting news

Our 2 cockatiels were starting to act parental, so I put a nestbox in their cage and they took right to it. Here are some pictures when I first put the box in, since then they have built a nest inside and laid an egg! Not sure if it is fertile or not, but we are very excited.

1st snow!

1st snow of 2009! Not too much, but enough to be pretty. Pepere came over for a morning visit and decided to shovel the driveway for Jim because he had to work. Jadyn decided to go out and help him so of course I had to take some pictures and here they are..so cute!

Getting ready for Christmas!

Christmas is almost here!
every year, the kids and I, make a gingerbread house together. This year I found a house and a tree, so we did both. Following, in no particular order and with no rhyme or reason are some pictures of our projects this year. We hope you like them!

Back to school..

We took a little break for our vacation and Thanksgiving but school is back in session now full force. Jadyn is getting extra reading help from a tutor from Bryant college and it has made a huge difference for her. She no longer hates reading and it doing so well. I am so proud of her progress.

Jesse continues to amaze me every day with how quickly he catches on to things and the things that he remembers. It's been a great year so far and I am having a blast watching their little minds explode and seeing their joy when they are working hard at something and it finally clicks..

last week Jesse continued his lessons about the human body and nutrition. He made a food pyramid, did lots of food pyramid lessons and also was happy to learn that his formula fit into all the food groups, because it has all the nutrients he needs to survive. I think these lessons (that I was dreading for obvious reasons) really made him realize just how important his formula is to him..he asked lots of questions about it and it was a great lesson for both of us..Jadyn learned about Rosa Parks this past week and was absolutely horrified that people would be treated that way just because of the color of their skin. At one point she actually started crying. She's such an empathic little girl I'm so proud of her..she really has a heart for other people.. above are a few pictures of their work this week...

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving snuck up on me too quickly this year, but I did manage to get into some form of holiday cheer.
Thanksgiving was supposed to be at my sister's this year, but Jesse was so sick that everyone came to my house for dessert instead and the 4 of us had a very quiet dinner all by ourselves. I did miss my family being there for the entire meal. But it was really nice just being with my little family that day reflecting on all the things we had to be thankful for.

Poor Jesse had been so sick all week and coughing so much that he broke a blood vessell in his eye! This amazed me I never had seen this before..it bothered me more than it bothered him. Poor kid

We have had a trying year with illnesses and insurance company fights. Even so we have a lot to be thankful for. The Lord continues to provide for us and put people in our lives that we need at the times that we need them. He continues to give me strength on the days that I know I just can't make it one more day, He pulls me through and I believe He will continue to pull me through those days as they come. Our families are nearby and there whenever we need them to be, we have such a fabulous support system and for that I am forever grateful. I am grateful for my children, I am grateful for the fact that I can homeschool them, that I am married to a man that is a wonderful, loving, involved father who would die for his children if they needed him to. I am grateful that he is my best friend and we are a team, always, no matter what. Together, with Jesus, we can get through anything. And most importantly I am Thankful that Jesus died on the cross for me, so that I can live forever in Heaven with Him. He died for you too, and He loves you no matter what you've done, He's already forgiven you. So, like the song says that's playing right now on this blog. Come home running...don't wait...do it now..time is short. His arms are open wide, waiting. Don't ignore Him..Come Home..

DISNEY!!

In early November we went to Disneyworld with Memere and Pepere. We stayed in Pepere's timeshare and the kids found a cute little cubbyhole to hide in in the condo. Unfortunately these are the only 2 pictures I got of the condo and I can't figure out why. I usually take more. Oh well it was nice anyway. The obligatory Castle picture
