More Molly

Got some great shots last night of the babies. Molly is such a good Mama and very gentle and loving with her owlets, it's so nice to see. Below are some really great shots of the babies. #4 should hatch today! There is a lesson plan at homeschoolshare.com titled owlbabies if anyone would like to turn this into a lesson for the kiddies. I'll be updating a lot on Molly because my kids are very interested in her. They want to say good morning to Molly every day and good night to Molly every night. It's so exciting, enjoy the pictures. Molly heard a noise outside the box
great shot of baby and 2 remaining eggs
Max, the oldest owlet, trying to get away I think lol

Molly's babies

Here are some great shots of the babies. We are still waiting for the 4th egg to hatch, it should hatch at some point today..aren't they beautiful!

Molly The barn owl

We have been blessed this week to witness the miracle of nature. We found a live streaming video of a barn owl nest box. Here is the link http://www.sportsmansparadiseonline.com/Live_Owl_Nest_Box_Cam.html apparently this is quite a popular little owl family. Please excuse the blurry pictures of the inside of the nestbox..as of this morning we have 3 owlets (max, pattison and austin) and 2 eggs waiting to hatch. Daddy owl (McGee) is a very good provider and brings mama owl (Molly) food all the time. Last night I saw him bring her a baby bunny, a few mice and something that looked like a gopher or a mole, maybe a chipmunk, not sure..the picture below is Molly, the mama
Here is a picture of Daddy McGee

Molly inside the nest box, see the little owlet heads peeking out from underneath her? So cute!
Feeding time, Molly was feeding the babies a mouse, ew lol

feeding time over now time for a nap with owlets tucked warm and comfy underneath
Mama Love! Molly snuggling baby AWW

great picture of baby owlet! They grow so fast!

We are totally addicted to Molly and her babies! It is amazing the instinct God has given these animal mommies to nurture and protect their little ones. Some human mothers could take lessons from Molly.

EGYPT CLASS WRAP UP

We have wrapped up our EGYPT class and I just wanted to include a few pictures from our projects that we did. Pictures of our mummified chicken will be added later.

we made life size pictures of sarcophagus first picture is Jadyn's and the second is Jesse's

We made scrolls out of rice paper with hieroglyphics, or our own version thereof lol

clay tablets with our names in hieroglyphics, actual ones. Top tablet is Jesse and bottom one is Jadyn

Next week we will be taking a trip to RISD museum to visit their Egypt exhibit. The kids also got really cute certificates from the class.

BEACH!!!!

First beach day of 2010! We didn't last too long it was really cold! but the kids had fun and it was beautiful. Jadyn, she is such a little poser lol!
Jesse found a rope and dragged along behind him the whole time we were there

It was a really long rope and we had to do some heavy convincing to make him leave it there.
