Enrich Art Show!!

Yesterday was set up day for the Enrich art show. Jadyn submitted a few pieces for display. There were so many fabulous entries. Here are a few pictures of us setting up and a few pictures of the artwork as well..there were way to many to picture here so if you are in the vicinity of the Warwick public library on Sandy Lane, check out the art. It will be there until April 22nd!

Working hard putting everything up, moms, dads and kids all helped out <3

This girl is AMAZING!! Very talented

Super Cool puppet!

Jadyn's entries, a picture of a library and a pink chick. LOL...she made a great picture of the eiffel tower during France week, but she didn't want to enter it, so there you go pink chickie you won!

I want this one

There will be a reception on Friday and I will take more pictures then! SO MUCH FUN!!

Play, Play, Play!!!

AFRICA

For the past 3 weeks we have been studying Africa. I think we could spend the entire rest of the year studying Africa. There is SO MUCH to learn. It's such a beautiful, fascinating place. We really enjoyed learning about this continent. We were also very fortunate to have a visiting nurse for nana who was from Africa. We learned a lot from her as well and she even showed us some African dances.

We learned how to play Mancala. This game was so much fun, I probably never would have bought it unless we were doing this study and we definately would have been missing out. This game will be very well loved.

I also found this really cool 3-D wood puzzles, we built them and then painted them.

our flags of the world bulletin board (er..kitchen wall lol) no room in the homeschool room for this, but I think it's a very useful tool so in the kitchen it shall stay!

Our science focus has been on the grasslands we learned so much. Plant-eaters, meat-eaters and how the animals survive on the open grasslands.

Then we had the most fun playing safari with our 3-D wood animals. ROAR!!!

Check out that lion that Jadyn made!! Very cool!

Rhino's and monkeys too!

all together now! We are now off to Saudi Arabia, I wonder what adventures we will find there.

GERMANY 1st week

First week of Germany, such a great country to study, so many interesting facts, places and people.. ....and castles....we LOVE castles. This one is the castle that they modeled the Sleeping Beauty castle after in Disneyland.

We are also reading Grimms Fairy Tales

Our science focus this week was classifying the animal kingdom

Vertebrates and Invertebrates

bivalves, cephalpods, gastropods, echinoderms, porifera, caldarians, and annelids oh my!

...more fun stuff in Germany next week!

FRANCE

France was our focus for the past couple of weeks, in that time Valentines day fell so I found a really fun math activity using conversation hearts. We sorted them into colors

Then we estimated, counted and graphed each one.

We then painted pictures of the Eiffel tower. This one is Jadyn's.

Kidz Wurld had baby farm animals visit so we went and checked them out. I wanted to take ALL of them home.
