Meatless Monday Eggplant

So in my feeble attempt to get more veggies into my family I have decided to institute Meatless Mondays I found some really nice eggplant on sale this week so I decided to make eggplant parm. If this goes over well this will be added to our garden next year. We already have fresh basil on the deck so that's going in there too!  YUM YUM. I hope my kids eat it. If not, more for us!!!

EGYPT

We got to visit the Boston Museum of Science saturday and explored their exhibit on Egypt. We were not allowed to take pictures, except for this camel, but if you get the chance to go you should definately go. We explored for 4 hours! They had an actual mummy there and TONS of information and artifacts. The OMNI theater movie was amazing. This exhibit gets 2 thumbs up!! The subway ride home, packed in like sardines, not so much!

Summer Sign Language Classes

This was our classroom today. We take a short break from our studies in the summer but when learning opportunities arise we jump on them!  This summer we are taking Sign language classes in a very pretty outdoor classroom.
We learned our alphabet, so we could spell our names and we learned our colors as well.
It was a bit tricky at first but we caught on fast, even the parents.

Going over our names again with Miss J.
 Practice, Practice, Practice

Making sure we learned them properly.
...Always take time out to smell the pretty flowers, especially in the summer.

...and never, ever forget to be silly~!

How is your summer going?

2012 Homeschool International Fair

Playing outside before the fair. I'd like to thank everyone that made this event possible! The effort that was put into this event for these kids was above and beyond and I feel so very blessed to be a part of ENRICH.
 Great poster!
Checking on flights to make sure we arrive on time to our destination!
Checking in and receiving our passports
 Walk through the metal detector

 Or crawl, whatever (cuteness)
Arriving at our destinations and "unpacking"
 Jadyn's display on Italy
 Our passports
Checking out the other displays and getting our stamps
 Cheeeeeze!
Some of the great displays!! So proud of all these homeschoolers!! They did such a great job.

hmmmmm, not quite sure what's going on here lol
...and then the food from all the countries! How fun and tasty!

Can't wait until next year!! Again thank you so much for organizing and putting all this work into this event for our kids.

Learning about weather at Mt. Washington

Our recent visit to the weather discovery center in NH
Learning the geography of the white mountains
weather in other parts of the world
the effects of the wind on currents
 The venturi effect on climate
This twister exhibit was so much fun, it was opened so you could climb right in to it if you wanted to

My 2 little hams pretending to be weather people. They LOVED seeing themselves on T.V.
The inside of the model of the Mt. Washington observatory
 Pictures of the actual observatory
self explanatory pictures of things we learned about that day

Playing with the wind machine So much fun!
Then we were off to explore the mountains!

Such a fun trip, we can't wait to go back again.
