Random Lesson

I have no idea why I took this picture, but apparently at the time I thought it was important, so here it is! Our lesson on birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians.

Tambourines

We did a mini unit study on moses, as you can see there were lot's of coloring pages. At the end of the lessons we made tambourines out of paper plates and dried beans. For some reason I do not have a picture of the finished product but this gives you the general idea.

Friends from Israel

We were blessed the other week to be able to have our friends from Israel over for dinner and spend some time with them before they head back home at the end of the summer. Here are some pictures of their beautiful children. Zebulon and Leora. Of course I had no forethought to actually take pictures of THEM or the whole crew as a family, so they will just have to come over again, which was probably my evil plan all along LOL..hopefully we will get to see them again before they go home. They will be missed!

Bunny in the classroom!!

Last month, on a particularly hot day, we decided to bring cocoa into the schoolroom to cool off a bit. He sat under the table for a few minutes. Then he inspected the carpet and decided it smelled ok.

..gnawed on some wood, wanted to make sure that the cabinet was sturdy.

..inspected the doors to make sure they were hung correctly and everything was sound

when all his hard work was done he lounged around for a few hours......

..then he read the paper before he left..looks like he's checking out the sales, maybe he wants a sound system for his bunny hutch?

Bunny had a fun adventure in the schoolroom for the day!

Fourth of July

Last day of School

Today is the last day of homeschool for my kids. We will be doing assorted lapbook and reading projects throughout the summer as well as all types of field trips through our homeschooling groups that we belong to.
I have been without a decent computer for the past few weeks, hence my last of posting and pictures. I have lots and lots of pictures that I hope I can get uploaded before too long.
Our schoolroom is finally finished and decorated! Our next years curriculum is in and organized and ready to go! (I love new books)
I can't wait to start next years curriculum. We will be having 2 little visitors with us all summer this year so all 4 children will be working on lapbook units and summer reading. I hope to start next year's curriculum at the end of August sometime.
Jadyn just had her dance recital yesterday and we celebrated father's day afterward. At the end of this week we have a trip to Six Flags planned to celebrate the end of school as well as Daddy's birthday! I'm sure there will be lots of pictures from that trip. (big sigh) I just wish I could upload them all! I hope everyone is having a great end of year wrap up with their homeschooling lessons and we wish you all a great summer!!

New Schoolroom!!

SO EXCITING!! Jim gave up his train room/man cave in the basement and made me my very own schoolroom!! Now I will have room for everything and my kitchen will stay a kitchen! I'm just so super excited about this I couldn't wait to post pictures. Even though it's not really all done yet, you get the general idea...so here are some pictures..this first one is a picture of the school table and next to it is the art center. The wall behind it is going to be my super huge bulletin board! It just needs to be decorated.

media center. a tv will go here with a dvd player to watch education videos that pertain to what we are studying that week, OK and maybe some video games too for the off times..gotta have recess..OH and check out that closet!! This room has 3 of them! How cool is that!! two more closets for storage

The kids wanted to get started right away in their new schoolroom so I pulled out the pattern blocks and let them play with them. I told them to make me some patterns

Jesse decided that making a crabby patty was way more fun here he is pretending to eat it
