Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving snuck up on me too quickly this year, but I did manage to get into some form of holiday cheer.
Thanksgiving was supposed to be at my sister's this year, but Jesse was so sick that everyone came to my house for dessert instead and the 4 of us had a very quiet dinner all by ourselves. I did miss my family being there for the entire meal. But it was really nice just being with my little family that day reflecting on all the things we had to be thankful for.

Poor Jesse had been so sick all week and coughing so much that he broke a blood vessell in his eye! This amazed me I never had seen this before..it bothered me more than it bothered him. Poor kid

We have had a trying year with illnesses and insurance company fights. Even so we have a lot to be thankful for. The Lord continues to provide for us and put people in our lives that we need at the times that we need them. He continues to give me strength on the days that I know I just can't make it one more day, He pulls me through and I believe He will continue to pull me through those days as they come. Our families are nearby and there whenever we need them to be, we have such a fabulous support system and for that I am forever grateful. I am grateful for my children, I am grateful for the fact that I can homeschool them, that I am married to a man that is a wonderful, loving, involved father who would die for his children if they needed him to. I am grateful that he is my best friend and we are a team, always, no matter what. Together, with Jesus, we can get through anything. And most importantly I am Thankful that Jesus died on the cross for me, so that I can live forever in Heaven with Him. He died for you too, and He loves you no matter what you've done, He's already forgiven you. So, like the song says that's playing right now on this blog. Come home running...don't wait...do it now..time is short. His arms are open wide, waiting. Don't ignore Him..Come Home..

DISNEY!!

In early November we went to Disneyworld with Memere and Pepere. We stayed in Pepere's timeshare and the kids found a cute little cubbyhole to hide in in the condo. Unfortunately these are the only 2 pictures I got of the condo and I can't figure out why. I usually take more. Oh well it was nice anyway. The obligatory Castle picture

The Five Senses

Jesse spent a week discovering his five senses. Here is a really cute poster game that I found on Sparklebox. I am quickly becoming addicted to sparklebox. Jesse got all of them right! Sight..we blindfolded ourselves and tried to get around the house while we couldn't see. There was a lot of laughing that day. We also put some items in a bag and tried to guess what they were without seeing them.

Hearing and smell. We spent a day outside listening to all sorts of sounds and tried to guess what they were and talked a little about people who could not hear or could not hear very well. Smell was interesting, we smelled all sorts of things and when I asked Jesse to name something he could smell he said "rotten garbage smells"..yes Jesse indeed it does.

Taste and Touch we explored all types of textures with our hands and tasted Jesse's safe foods and decided if they were sweet, salty or sour. Jesse then had to sort all the different pictures and put them with the correct sense and he got all of them right.

Well, It's been a while since I updated..

This is a very busy time of year for us.

Most of you know that I have been fighting with Jesse's insurance company to cover his formula that is is sole source of nutrition (except potatoes) that they did not want to cover.

After getting Patrick Kennedy involved the insurance company finally covered it for 1 yr. So I will have this fight again next year, but for now we are ok. I have to come to dread insurance companies, I will never understand their thought process. If the doctor says that the child needs something, then he needs it, just cover it! I don't get it and I guess I never will..

Well the kids decided they wanted to trick or treat this year and since my sister lives in a very quiet neighborhood we brough them their and took them to a few houses, here are some pictures of my little Dorothy and Wow Wow Wubbzy. We also went to a harvest party at our church where we made salvation bracelets, spin art, and played some fun games. It was a fun weekend.
